As soon as we saw Ruben Petrisie's website we knew he was the perfect ambassador for MAKANI in Europe. A young innovative windsurfer that thinks out of the box with an easy approach mixing cool music, lifestyle and all aspects of windsurfing. The same approach we have in North America by being present in grass roots events and competitions and not concentrate on high end PWA events or staying behind our computers. Our fins our cool with new graphics and design and we need more Rubens worldwide to show them around ;-) but there is clearly only one !!!

Ka Moana was founded during spring of 2004 as a small Surflabel and actually means "Child of the Ocean" in Polynesian.

After the small company that was brought together by friends who first made a name in the windsurfing and then later into the surfers scene.
It was during the current economic crisis when it became cold at the label, and people began to expand their horizons, while they clung to the jagged peaks of the Alps. So it happened during the winter time of 2008/2009 and the team extended with 4 snowboarders who relevantly attached their influence to the brand Ka Maoana. Since 2008 Kamoana became brighter and louder with its new team constellation.

You may spot the mutual inspiration of the team riders and some of the many influential calligraphy to neon artwork, based on the finest quality from Indonesia among the Designs by Ka Moana.
